Roles and Responsibilities

  • Patient Preparation & Assessment: Conduct pre-procedure assessments, ensure informed consent, educate patients, and monitor vital signs.

  • Post-Procedure Care: Monitor patient recovery, manage pain, and provide post-procedure care instructions.

  • Infection Control & Safety: Follow sterilization protocols and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

  • Legal & Ethical Responsibilities: Ensure patient confidentiality and comply with healthcare laws and ethical standards.

Requirements

  • RN Qualification: Must hold a valid nursing degree (e.g., Bachelor of Nursing) and be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) in the UK.

  • Clinical Experience: Previous experience as a Registered General Nurse, ideally in a clinical setting with exposure to endoscopy or colonoscopy.

  • Infection Control Training: Knowledge of infection prevention and control standards.

  • Empathy and Compassion: Ability to provide emotional support to patients undergoing any procedures.
