How long does the registration process take?
We strive to provide you with the shortest turn-around time possible. The more documents you can provide us, the faster we can clear you for work.
I haven’t received any shifts since registering with your agency?
We are an ad hoc agency which means our shifts are available according to our clients needs. Please note: we might have limited shifts to offer over time. However, we would advise our candidates to keep updating their availability.
I have registered with your agency years ago, do I have to register again?
No. You will be able to activate your file by logging into Staffshift. All you have to do is insert your username which will be your email address, click on "Forgot Password".
I only want to work certain hours, would this be possible?
As an agency we believe in staffing flexibility and therefore would be able to cater to your unique requirements. Upon successful registration, you will have access to our unique agency worker profile system, where you would be able to select your work preferences.
What happens if I am already registered with one of your sister agencies under the A24 Group?
If you are registered with one of our agencies that fall under the A24Group (click for website to see which agencies are all part of our group) there is no need to register again. All of your information is shared between the agencies, in strict confidence. The benefit is that you only need to become compliant with one of our UK agencies, which saves money on training courses, occupational health and Criminal Records Bureau checks. So it’s one registration process but it increases the work opportunities.
If you are a South African nurse currently working for us in South Africa, you will need to register your details with us; the compliance differences between the two continents are vast. Please note that we do not recruit South African nurses into the UK. We can only deal with South Africans that have landed in the UK, have the right to work in the UK and hold a current NMC registration.
How can I update my availability?
You can update your availability via our Staffshift Mobile App or on desktop, alternatively you can call our Bookings department.
How do I know if I completed my registration with your agency?
Once you have submitted all the required information, download and accept the policies, and upload your documents. The save button appears when you edit your information. You will receive a follow up call from one of our team members to verify your information.
Does the A24 Group assist with apprenticeships/internships for medical students?
We can offer you unpaid volunteer shadow shifts through one of our agencies to gain exposure, experience and references.
If I forgot my password, and I no longer have access to my email account. What should I do?
We have a team of friendly consultants available to assist you with any issues with your account. Please forward your new email address to our Compliance team, contact them on 0330 678 3064 or WhatsApp Chat Number: 0772 3559 602
Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS)
On 1 December 2012 a new body called the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) came into effect. This resulted from a merger of the CRB and ISA. In May 2013, further changes were announced. We have endeavoured to answer some of your questions here.
Working with us: What can I expect?
We operate nationally across the UK and provide services to NHS Hospitals, private hospitals, PCT's and other healthcare providers. Agency work is driven by client demand and so availability can vary from season-to-season and regionally. Agency nurses are booked by our clients usually to cover anything from a short term requirement to a maternity /vacancy cover post. Our consultants work hard every day across the UK to secure for you the best assignments.
How can I make sure that I am in a good position to maximise my opportunities?
You will need to make sure that you constantly update your availability with us once you are registered. Click here to register now. It is also important to talk to and build a rapport with the consultants that are responsible for shift allocations. They are all organised into teams - so if for example you live in London, ask for the London team, and similarly in other regions. Finally, it is important that you manage your records with us via the Staffshift web site, because if you are not compliant at all times then our consultants will be unable to book shifts for you.
What is Staffshift?
Staffshift is our candidate management portal. Once you have attended an interview with us you will receive an email inviting you to log onto the Staffshift website, where you are able to manage your compliance processes and can see at a glance what is required to make your record 'Work Live'. Once you are cleared for work, you can download timesheets, provide details of your availability and other activities on-line.
Do you provide transport to clients?
No, it is your responsibility to travel to the shift by the required start time.
How will I know what I should get paid?
Our pay rates are available on this website and will also be conveyed to you by our consultants at the time of booking.
How do I get paid?
We operate a weekly payroll. In order to get paid, you must complete a timesheet. It is important that you print your name clearly on the timesheet, the name of the client, the hours that you have worked (less breaks) and the grade or band that you have worked as. The timesheet can only be agreed by an authorised signatory at the client establishment.
Where do I send my timesheet?
All timesheets must be emailed, faxed or posted to our payroll department:
Ambition 24house
92-96 Lind Road
Sutton, Surrey
SM1 4PL.
Timesheets must reach our payroll team by no later than 12 noon on Monday to be paid that Friday. For more contact information regarding any queries you might have please click here.
How do the pay run cut-offs work?
If your timesheet reaches us by 12 noon on a Monday, you will be paid for all shifts up to the previous Sunday night.
How do I get my payslip?
We will post your payslip to your home address.
Can I do agency work for all the agencies under A24 Group if I am registered with you?
Absolutely, each agency has different work opportunities available and pay different rates of pay. All agency work is dependent upon meeting the compliance requirements of all of our agencies.
How do I make myself available for work with all agencies?
It is easy - just go online to Staffshift, or download the app and update your availability - this will immediately reflect on the systems of all agencies.
