NSUK backs UK National Carers Week with jobs for HCA Healthcare Assistants
/Nursing Services of the UK offers a range of carers jobs for homecare and with healthcare service providers throughout the UK and is backing National Carers Week, 13 – 19 June. The week is supported by Age UK, Carers UK, Counsel & Care, Crossroads Car, Dementia UK, Macmillan Cancer Support, MS Society, Parkinson's UK, and The Princess Royal Trust for Carers.
NSUK offers paid employment for experienced carers, in homecare and other settings. Many of its HCA Health Care Assistants were formerly carers for family members. There are no qualification requirements for a care worker, but many of NSUK’s clients require at least an NVQ 2 level care-related qualification.
To register with NSUK for HCA jobs, candidates are required to supply two references to show that the carer is able to perform to a required level. There are many training institutions across the UK that offer NVQ 2 level training - Google 'NVQ 2 care course' to search on google.co.uk (UK pages only).
HCA agency staff at NSUK can now manage their work and compliance on the internet with the advanced systems operated by Nursing Services of the UK – amongst the nursing agencies approved by NHS Buying Solutions. HCAs registered for nursing agency jobs with NSUK have personal on-line diaries to advise their availability for work. There are HCA job alerts by SMS text too – and automatic notifications by e-mail when mandatory training and annual registrations fall due.
NSUK was launched in 2009 to provide the same high quality agency service that many medical staff and healthcare providers have enjoyed with the agency in South Africa for over 60 years, according to the Directors.
Employers of HCA staff benefit from one of the UK’s most advanced compliance systems to meet their temporary staffing needs, with safety and security in mind. Features of the NSUK service include: full ICT safeguards and support for compliance and booking; nurse registration backed by face-to-face interviews and full credentials and CRB checks; detailed 23-page career questionnaire and check on four named referees; and career proof of certification.
