Cancer Awareness Month

November is lung, mouth and pancreatic cancer awareness month. Making others aware of the various forms of cancer aids in education, prevention, diagnosis and where possible the treatment of cancer. According to the World Health Organisation, cancer is the second leading cause of death globally with about 1 in 6 deaths due to cancer. The medical field of oncology specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

Oncology requires a passionate group of professionals that are dedicated to helping people fight and ideally overcome cancer. Careers in oncology include Clinical Nurse Specialists, Oncologists, Radiologists, Radiation Therapists, Medical Physicists and Palliative Care.
